What is private message?

A private message permits members to communicate privately in the context of a conversation. As the messages are shown in the channel, they are not sent by SMS to the contact. They remain a little note in the midst of the text conversation to help you make an email about the proceedings for yourself and other members. It can be helpful to ask a question to a different member and get an answer without leaving the page. For solo plans, you are able to record actions taken or conclusions after a conversation is finished.

Creating a personal note
It's easy! You should use the global 'Create' button from anywhere in the application to have a private message:

Share your note
Since private messages have been in essence regular messages, you can decide to talk about them with whomever you'd like, crafting the privacy settings to your needs.

As an example, it might seem sensible to generally share the note above with Stan. Just in case you wanted to publish anything that's very personal and shouldn't be visible to Stan, you may take two notes: One on your own eyes only, and one that's shared with Stan.

Revisiting Notes
Beneath the performance review form there's a case that highlights data from within Small Improvements. All your messages about Stan will automatically appear underneath Stan's performance review form.
